Moving the Points in the side View
I have now pulled out all the points from the flat mask, to match the side of my face. This was very tricky to create a smooth look and I especially struggled as some areas had to be guessed due to the fact of not being able to see past other lines.
It was carried out by looking at in the "Front View" choosing a vertex, then moving the vertex the desired distance in the side view.
Problems that Occurred
I found this very difficult as it was hard to see all the points, imagine where all the aspects of the face would be. I started off by just lining them up, I then realized that the eye was further in that the rest of the face so from the side I had to make the cheek bones and muscles further forwards then the eye.
The nose also had to be connected smoothly to the cheeks and eyes but yer still be far enough out to show the contours. ( Which was especially tricky for the bridge of the nose, and the bulges to the sides of the nose.)
TOO MANY LINES!!!
When moving the points, it became increasingly harder to see and understand what i was looking at. I had to use judgment and it actually helped to stare at my face in the mirror, work out what points were further out and had more depth and how far they were apart.
Final Result
This is what I managed to come up with, looks like something from phantom of the opera, it needs playing around with still but overall I am quite pleased with the result so far.
The Amazing Blog of Daniel Reeve
The blog that you see before you is an online thinking place for all my University Work. Before you laugh most of it contains 3D work, which I would not call my best area of expertise!! I am a 2D Illustrator at heart but love to try out new stuff and see what else I can create.
My personal website DJR DESIGNS is in the navigation bar at the top, if you want to see some of my best work and designs. If not then carry on reading and discover how an amateur 3D designer works :D
